At the conclusion of this continuing education lesson, the pharmacists will be able to:
- Discuss the current clinical guidelines and recommendations for a womans cardiovascular and bone health.
- Describe the use of complementary and nutritional therapies for cardiovascualr and bone health in the maturing woman.
- Discuss the management of peri-menopausal symptoms using hormone replacement therapy and/or complementary treatments.
- List the conventional and complementary therapies of the management of osterarthritis.
- List five recommendations for maintenance of good health in the maturing woman.
- Discuss potential interactions between supplenemts and traditional medicines for CVD, osetoporosis, menopause, and osteoarthritis.
At the conclusion of this continuing education lesson, the pharmacy technician will be able to:
- Name several key issues affecting womens cardiovascular and bone health.
- Describe the use of complementary and nutritional therapies of cardiovascular and bone health in the maturing woman.
- Name several common questions about hormone replacement therapy and/or complementary treatments that you would refer to the pharmacist.
- List the conventional and complementary therapies for the management of odteoarthritis.
- List five recommendations for maintenance of good health in the mturing woman.

She has also been a Project Manager for Health Connect and Supervisor of the Cardio Protective Clinic at Kaiser Permanente. JoAnne has also served as a clinical research monitor and supervisor. |
