At the conclusion of this continuing education lesson, the pharmacist will be able to:
- State the mechanism of action, efficacy, side effects, drug interactions and contraindications of vitamin A, betacarotene, Bs, C, D, E, Ca, iodine, selenium, Mg and iron.
- List the specific dosing regimens for various disease states or prevention of disease.
- Discuss the primary literature regarding the benefits and risks of vitamins, minerals and multivitamins.
- Review and discuss websites that are truthful and beneficial for pharmacists and patients.
