Ken Baker, RPh. J.D. is a pharmacist and an attorney. He is currently vice president and general counsel for Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company, Algona, Iowa. Prior to joining Pharmacists Mutual, Dr. Baker practiced general trial law for 13 years, including three years as a deputy prosecuting attorney. He practiced pharmacy for several years before becoming a lawyer and managed a community chain pharmacy for over four years.

Learning Objectives
 
At the completion of this program, the pharmacist should be able to discuss:

  1. Understand the origins of federal law as it affects compounding pharmacy
  2. Study recent court cases in the area of compounding law
  3. Review the question of federalism in the compounding pharmacy area
  4. Review the problems associated with compounding and how those are being addressed
