- Describe the epidemiology, socioeconomic impact and pathophysiology of osteoporosis.
- List common risk factors and medications that is associated with an increased incidence of developing osteoporosis.
- Discuss the standards for osteoporosis prophylaxis and treatment based on bone densitometry readings.
- Discuss the proposed mechanisms of drug-induced bone demineralization.
- Discuss recommendations that pharmacists can make to limit drug effects.
