Goals and Objectives
After successfully completing this program, participants will have acquired a basic knowledge of Spanish terms and expressions for communicating with pharmacy patients, including:
- Basic pronunciation and grammar.
- Greetings, thanks, and regrets.
- Questions used for collecting a patient's demographic, medical and insurance information.
- Common issues related to prescription filling and insurance.
- Pharmaceutical vocabulary including dosage forms, quantities, routes of administration, and frequency.
- The ability and tools for creating prescription label directions.
- Patient counseling terms and phrases covering proper drug usage, side effects, and warnings.
- Anatomical, disease, calendar, time, and numerical terms.
This program will be easier for those who already know a little Spanish and just need to learn pharmacy-specific vocabulary. For beginners to obtain the best results, we recommend taking a Spanish course to acquire pronunciation and grammar skills.
